Programs
Maryland Recovery Partners, Inc. provides the opportunity to build on the foundation of getting sober to staying sober as a way of life.
Most of our residents have had multiple inpatient treatments but have been unable to implement the tools of recovery on their own. While knowledge about the disease of addiction is essential, without support and implementation, it is often ineffective in providing lasting change.
Our extended care programs are founded on: abstinence, gainful employment, 12-Step recovery, and life-skills in a “real life” setting. Our programs provide the recovering individual with a task-oriented day where residents are held accountable for their actions and are given encouragement to do the “next right thing”.
This approach allows the recovering individual the time necessary for recovery and other life-skills to become second nature. Repetition brings familiarity…familiarity brings comfort…comfort leads to lasting change.
No matter how hard the recovering individual tries, he/she can NEVER think his or her way into right living (if he/she could, you wouldn’t be reading this right now). One must always live their way into right thinking!
Because we are a small hands-on organization we involve ourselves in nearly every area of our residents’ recovery including:
- Support in maintaining abstinence
- Assistance in finding a sponsor and home group
- Encouragement in working the 12-Steps of recovery
- Motivation in finding and maintaining employment
- Managing finances, with the goal of developing financial responsibility
- Re-establishing and/or maintaining healthy relationships with family
- Determining and maintaining healthy boundaries with others
- Encouragement and support in developing a higher level of spirituality
- Assist in working through legal issues
- Offer Court representation and reporting when appropriate
These services are targeted to meet the individual needs of each resident. In addition, our life coach and counselors help residents to understand and interrupt destructive behavior patterns and substitute more positive, life-enhancing choices. We also utilize psychiatrists to provide ongoing medication management for individuals with co-occurring disorders (when appropriate).
